Eyestrain and Computer Work
Eyestrain and Computer Work Eyestrain with computer work can be a big problem. Not only is eyestrain detrimental to your vision in the long term, but it also causes poor posture and neck strain. We tend to lean forward towards our work when we are having trouble seeing the task at hand. It is this forward leaning posture that results in postural stress. Those of you who have read my prior articles know that postural stress leads to irritation and inflammation of joints and muscles which in turn results in neck pain, shoulder pain, back pain, etc. Reducing eyestrain will help minimize fatigue. The following guidelines will help you sort out lighting issues with your computer station.
The guidelines listed above will help you reduce eyestrain associated with your monitor. You will increase your chances of experiencing eyestrain and other related stresses by following as many of the guidelines as possible. |
